MediaTek announces SoCs that bring Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity for IoT devices

Beijing, November 19 : , Chip manufacturer MediaTek unveiled Friday’s Filogic 130A and Filogic 130A system-on-chips.These SoCs combine a microprocessor, AI engine and Wi-Fi 6 subsystems with a power management unit and (PMU), all in one chip.
Filogic 130A integrates an audio digital sign processor that allows device manufacturers to add voice assistants to their products.

This all-in-one solution delivers energy-efficient and reliable connectivity in small form factors that can be used with a variety of IoT devices.

In a statement, Alan Hsu (Corporate Vice President, General Manager Intelligent Connectivity, MediaTek) stated that “In the future, advanced connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi 6 or Bluetooth 5.2 will be a must have for smart home devices with increasing needs for AI processing power and energy efficiency.

Hsu said that MediaTek’s Filogic 130A and Filogic 130A solutions provide the ideal combination of features to drive this change.

Filogic 130A and 130A support Wi-Fi 6 1T1R connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi 2.4GHz or 5GHz as well advanced WiFi features like target wake time (TWT), MIMO, OFDMA, QoS, and WPA3 WiFi security.

The solutions allow for advanced Wi-Fi coexistence to ensure Wi-Fi connectivity is maintained even with Bluetooth devices.

Filogic 130A includes an integrated HiFi4 DSP that allows for far more precise voice processing and always-on microphone capabilities with trigger word support.
