Mcc Unlikely To Offer Free Entry To Spectators On Day 5 Of England-south Africa Test

MCC is unlikely to grant fans free admission on the 5th day of the England-South Africa Test

London 16th August : The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is not likely to accept the demand for admissions to be free on the 5th day of the first England-South Africa Test at Lord’s beginning on August 17 despite being criticized by the likes of Michael Vaughan and the public in advance of the first summer match between England and New Zealand in June.
While MCC did not offer gratuities, Trent Bridge, Headingley and Edgbaston allowed admission for free during the third and second Tests against New Zealand and the rescheduled fifth Test against India which resulted in huge crowds of fans lining the venues.

In actual fact, ahead of the fifth day of action against New Zealand at Trent Bridge in June the stadium reimbursed ticket holders who had already purchased tickets and allowed them to watch the final game for free.

The Daily Mail reported in the Daily Mail said on Tuesday that “The MCC have yet to decide on a final plan, but they consider the Test (vs South Africa) as distinct from England’s previous matches in the summer that ended on Tuesday or Monday and the first Test against South Africa is due to conclude on Sunday in London which will create an increased ticket demand.”

Thunderstorms are predicted for the day one of the England-South African Test that could result in being washed out of the first day. This could increase the demand for tickets for day five according to the report.

“Day five tickets aren’t available at the moment, but the MCC is likely to offer them at a lower cost after the Test is over and they are aware of what the test will be,” the report said.

Many thousands of tickets to the first Test match against New Zealand at Lord’s in June were not sold and prompted the former England captain Michael Vaughan to call it an embarrassment to the game.

Vaughan was then tweeting “Lords having a bare field this week is shameful for the team.Try and blame the Jubilee for it all you want, but I can guarantee that that if tickets weren’t priced between 100 and 160 pounds, it would be packed!! What is the reason they are so costly?? #Lords #ENGvNZ.”
