By Ila Sankrityayan New Delhi, Sep 1 : TV host actor, comedian and comedian Maniesh Paul says that he is eagerly awaiting his OTT debut with Ritam Srivastav’s film that is a directorial drama.
Although he has not shared much regarding the series, he said: “I am thrilled to be able to play roles that allow me to show my talents as an actor beyond one specific genre that is comedy.I’m not able to speak much about this web series , but I’m not playing a comic-book character, and it’s an extremely interesting role about which I’ll be able to discuss about more in December.
“It’s a thriller-drama and I was extremely pleased when the opportunity came to me because I am now doing something completely different.
He is interested in creating more fictional projects as well as exploring his abilities as an actor.
Maniesh is set to host the cult dance reality show ‘JhalakDikhhla Jaa 10’.The show will return after five years.he believes that after the final season of this show , the most important thing that happened to him was the fact that Karan Johar offered him ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’.
He informs IANS: “It is like when one door closesand the other one opens.Post “Jhalak” Karan Sir offered me ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo which was a very profitable event for me.People began to recognize me as an actor , and in fact, those who had previously were averse to me are now arriving with various varieties of deals and I’m extremely happy to see my acting career progressing.”
Additionally, Maniesh shares how he is constantly evolving as host with every show, so that viewers will see an entirely different aspect of Maniesh.
“Hosting is a real challenge I don’t believe hosting is any easy.There are a lot of people believed that hosting is just getting up and going.You have 30 pages of a script, you just go through it and then return home.I’ve never done that since the beginning.I’ve always been trying to out of the box.”
“I’ve always been working hard on this, and I believe it’s my obligation to bring entertainment and enjoyment to it.So I’ve always done it.I’ve always taken charge of contestants.At the time the season was over of the season I’m not aware of anyone not being in contact with me.All of them remain in contact with me since I became a part of the family.”
He continues to explain how he inspires contestants during the competition: “There are days they have a fantastic performance.There are days when they’ve an unsatisfactory performance, and on that day, they’re the closest to me, since I’m the one who’s standing closest to them.”
“I am able to feel their pulse I can feel their heart beat.I feel that at times they could be demoralized with what judges are saying.
As a matter of fact, at the end of the day, no one likes to hear negative feedback.This is when I am with them and tell them that next time, you’ll be better.I’m grateful that people are appreciative of everything.”
How he is looking at Karan and Madhuri Dixit , the judges: “I found them very grounded and down to earth with contestants, me or the producers and channel people, and I think we should learn this quality from them” he concludes.
“Jhalak Dikhhla jaa 10” will begin on September 3 on Colors.
