The news of Mani Ratnam coming up with an epic anthology with 9 talented directors for 9 amazing stories has been rounds in the film circles from quite a long time.Now this project has been officially announced along with the details of the star cast, directors, and other technical team members.
The nine short film anthology was conceived by directors Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan as an initiative that will raise funds to support those in the cinema industry who have been acutely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.The filmmakers will be producing this anthology called ‘Navarasa’ for Netflix.
The anthology brings together the finest talent of the Tamil film industry as it will be helmed by the following nine directors – Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, KV Anand, Karthick Naren, Bejoy Nambiar, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad, Halitha Shameem, and Arvind Swami (directorial debut).
The anthology will star an ensemble o of top-line talents such as Suriya, Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy, Aishwarya Rajesh, Poorna, Rythvika, Prakash Raj, Siddharth, Gautham Karthik, Ashok Selvan, and many others.
Apart from the star cast, the crew includes AR Rahman, D Imman, Ghibran, Arul Dev, Karthik, Ron Ethan Yohann, Govind Vasantha, and Justin Prabhakaran amongst others as music directors while Santosh Sivan, Balasubramaniem, Manoj Paramahamsa, Abinandhan Ramanujam, Shreyaas Krishna, Harshvir Oberai, Sujith Sarang, V Babu, and Viraj Singh will be the cinematographers.
