Story :

Narendra (Naresh) is a star who has crores of wealth and properties. But he has no peace in his life. His family life has been in trouble. His marriage with wife Soumya Sethupathi (Vanitha Vijaykumar) is on the rocks. This makes Narendra attract to his co-star Parvathi (Pavitra Lokesh).Parvathi’s personal life too has issues. How Narendra and Parvathi face the social stigma of love at old-age when they have respective families and how they unite forms the crux of the story.

Performances :

Naresh lives in a role that is a biopic of sorts. He gets the various confusion and shades associated with the character right and delivers accordingly. In the end, it is to the credit of the actor that he creates a compelling role out of Narendra, even though a lot might put one off.The same is the case with Pavitra Lokesh. She is the movie’s backbone and delivers a grounded yet intense performance. She hits the right notes when maintaining a calm and gentle smile but raises the drama quotient whenever the emotions take over.

Technical Aspects:

Music directors Suresh Bobbili and Aruldev did an admirable job, as the songs were nicely composed. The background score was also neat. The movie looked rich thanks to the fine cinematography by Bal Reddy. The dialogues are well written, and they sound sensible too.The production values are sterling, but the editing wasn’t that great.

Coming to the writer-director, M.S.Raju, he did a decent job with the movie. He presented what he intended in a neat manner, but as mentioned earlier, the very nature of the film might exasperate a few individuals. Also, many questions would pop up in the audience’s minds regarding the accuracy of the things depicted.

Highlights :

Naresh & Pavitra Climax Second Half

Drawbacks :

Cringe Romance Track Over The Top Execution Irritating Moments

Verdict : On the whole, Malli Pelli is a tale of a bold couple that has a few things going its way.

Rating : 2 / 5
