Bogota : , Nov 20, 2018 – 90 suspected drug traffickers were captured in a massive operation carried out by security forces in Colombia. According to Xinhua, the Colombian president Ivan Duque announced Friday that 90 members of Clan del Golfo (Gulf Clan), a criminal organization in a national dragnet had been captured by the authorities.
Duque stated via Twitter that more than 300 uniformed criminal investigator service members carried out the massive operation “Demolisher” in seven different departments.This was a serious blow for the group.
Duque added that “In simultaneous operations lead by our #Public Force.90 alleged subgroups members of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ were captured.”
Operation were conducted in Antioquia and Atlantico as well as the Cordoba, Bolivars, Choco, Cesars, Magdalena departments.
Dairo Antonio Usuga (alias “Otoniel”) was captured by Colombian authorities on October 23.They offered $75,000 US Dollars for his capture.
This was the biggest blow against drug trafficking According to Duque, this is the century.
