Light rains expected in Andhra for next 48 hours, says IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department forecast heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh for the next two days.The Met Office has forecast low pressure to be formed in the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.The surface period extends up to 3.1 km above sea level in the Bay of Bengal and its environs.

It is likely to travel westwards, causing low pressure, the meteorological centre said.The surface basin extends from this surface period to 1.5 km above sea level in the northern Bay of Bengal.

The Meteorological Office said there were indications of light to moderate rains in AP in the next 48 hours.

On the other hand, the southwest monsoons across the country receded completely on Monday.However, the meteorological department said that the southwest monsoon had receded late this year.

Also, the Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and parts of Maharashtra from October 26 to 30 due to the northeast monsoon.The Met Office forecast that Karnataka and Rayalaseema would receive little rains on October 29 and 30, while coastal areas are likely to receive rains from October 28 to 30.
