Lahore 7 August (ANS) The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government is examining relevant legislation to facilitate the process of returning of its leader Nawaz Sharif who is in an exile that he has imposed himself in London for medical reasons and has been relocating to Pakistan according to the media reports.
PML-N’s leader and Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has already said the coalition government could adopt certain changes that will aid in the repeal of the ban on Sharif by the Supreme Court judgement in the Panama Papers case against him as reported by the Dawn reported.

“The parliament could overturn the lifetime ban on political leaders, and it might not be overturned by the court,” an insider told Dawn.

“Nawaz Sharif would be the biggest beneficiary of this legislation if it is introduced to the parliament and then approved,” the insider said, adding that the enactment of this law is tied to the result of Supreme Court Bar Association’s petition in the apex court to challenge the life-long bans on politicians.

In the past, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz had hinted that her father was keen to return however, there are ‘certain issues that hinder his return.

Additionally, she had also referred to not seeing a green glow’ from the bright circles that signalled the return of her husband, Dawn reported.

After Shehbaz Sharif was able to become the new premier in April lastyear, some PML-N leaders were elated believing that their leader would be among them in the near future.However, legal issues are believed to be the primary obstacle in his plans to return.

Nawaz Sharif is likely to return to Pakistan ahead of the general elections, as PML-N leaders believe that his presence in the field is crucial to stop the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) the juggernaut.

In the light of the increasing popularity of the PTI chairman, who was sacked from the post of pm in April of this year, the complete PMLN leadership is united in stating that the party requires Nawaz to be in Pakistan ahead of the election for the sake of scoring an electoral win, Dawn reported.
