Islamabad 28 Aug, Islamabad : There is an end to the problems of former Pakistan Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan.Even in the midst of he is embroiled in an ongoing battle with the current Shehbaz Sharif administration, a five-judge bigger bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was set up to take action against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) boss for “intimidating an female judge”.
The bench is headed by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, the bench includes Justices Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and Babar Sattar.
The proceedings will resume regarding the matter on August 31 , when Khan is required to appear in person before the court.
In the past the IHC had issued a show cause notice to Khan informing him of his obligation to show up before the court according to the Dawn.
The case was initially considered by a bench of three members.
The show-cause notice sent to Khan said that the claim was made in the sub-judice case to obtain a “favourable” decision and prima evidently, this was akin to obstructing the process of justice and fair procedure and to undermine public trust in the courts of law.
“These remarks were made with the intention of making the institution of the law to a sour note and threatening the credibility and integrity of the judiciary system.”
“Prima factually, Mr.Khan committed a crime of criminality and legal contempt of court, which is that is punishable in accordance with the section 5 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003” It added.
Furthermore, Yaseen Gill, brother of Khan’s chief of staff Shahbaz Gill, has filed an appeal to the IHC chief justice against the judge of additional sessions Zeba Chaudhry.
It said that “she had given the order on the 17th of August 2022 [to transfer Mr Shahbaz’s possession to the policeand the police] in the grave violation and of the law and in derogation of the rules of justice and the explicit laws of the law”.
