Uttar Pradesh police arrested Ashish Mishra in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident, which has created a stir across the country.Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, was questioned by the police for 12 hours on October 9.
However, Ashish Mishra seems to have given inconclusive answers regarding the incident.Against this backdrop, the SIT arrested him.Police said Ashish Mishra did not cooperate in the investigation.Police asked Ashish 40 questions at the Crime Branch office in Lakhimpur.
The six-membered SIT team questioned Ashish on the incident that happened on October 3.The trial was held in the presence of a magistrate.Ashish, who said he was not in the vehicle and was on the ground, submitted several videos on his behalf and ten witness affidavits to the authorities.
Four farmers were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
Police have issued notices to Ashish Mishra in connection with the murder of the farmers.Notices were issued once again for not attending the hearing on Friday.He appeared in court on Saturday.
Ashish Mishra was arrested at 11 pm after a lengthy interrogation.
Police tried to take Ashish Mishra away from the media and he would stay in judicial custody for 14 days.
