The compensation will be distributed from Tuesday at doorsteps in the GHMC and its surrounding Municipal corporations.
After the flood-relief package announcement came from Telangana Chief Minister on Monday, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has ordered the officials to distribute the said Rs.10,000 financial assistance for rain and flood-affected families from Tuesday.
“As directed by Hon’ble CM KCR Garu, starting today MA&UD department will provide financial assistance of ₹10,000 per family to 3-4 lakh families at their doorstep in GHMC & adjoining affected areas Hon’ble CM also stated that the Govt will extend further support if needed.” tweeted KT Ramarao, addressing his followers.
He also ordered all the MLAs to inspect the situation in the rain-affected areas and monitor the relief operations during the next ten days.
“Hon’ble CM has indicated that the relief should reach every affected family/person During this crisis, I appeal to all MLAs, Corporators, RWAs, NGOs & other public representatives to assist the Govt in ensuring the assistance reaches the needy.” addressed the MA&UD minister.
Meanwhile, all the MLAs and MLCs from GHMC have taken the decision to donate their two month-salary to the CM Relief Fund.
