KTR appeals to Union govt to set up a vaccine testing center in Hyderabad

Telangana IT and Industries Minister KTR penned to the Union govt asking to set up a vaccine testing centre in Hyderabad.In the letter, he mentioned that there is a huge need for a vaccine testing centre in Hyderabad.

KTR said setting up a testing centre in the city could produce an additional 8 to 10 crore vaccine doses per month.The minister said that if a testing centre is set up in Hyderabad, it can produce 100 crore vaccine doses in six months.

KTR appealed for setting up a centre immediately in Hyderabad because of the need for vaccine supply to India in the wake of the coronavirus.The Minister assured that the state government would assist on a fast track basis for setting up a testing centre.

Also, KTR said the required land for setting up a testing centre would be allocated in the Genome Valley in Hyderabad.

KTR said, “45 days are getting wasted as the vaccine need to be sent to other places for testing.By setting up a testing centre in Hyderabad saves 45 days.” The minister made it clear in the letter that the National Vaccine Testing Center is hundreds of kilometres away from Hyderabad.
