Koppal (Karnataka), December 8 : .A woman whose lungs had been 96% affected by coronavirus has miraculously recovered after spending 104 days on a ventilator at Karnataka’s Koppal.
Geetha Bai (46), from Boduru, Yelburga Taluk, fought and won an insurmountable battle against deadly coronavirus.On Tuesday, she was discharged from the hospital.

The woman was admitted to the hospital for a total of 158 days.After spending more than 2,500 hours on a ventilator in an ICU, all hope was lost for the woman.

The Koppal district hospital officials said that this is the first case of recovery after prolonged treatment for 158 days.Doctors said that patients with Covid infection are at risk of dying if 80 percent of their lungs are affected.

Geetha Bai’s lungs were infected 96 per cent.On July 3, she was in bad health and her health was deteriorating day by day.The doctors accepted it as a challenge, and treated her.

Covid patients usually leave the ventilator within one week to 90 days if the situation is critical.Geeta Bai spent 104 days on a ventilator and used 10 liters of oxygen per day.Geetha Bai still has breathing problems and requires oxygen support even though she is now discharged.

Dr Venugopal, a senior doctor who supervised the treatment, stated that the medical treatment would be more effective if he or she was optimistic and courageous in all situations.The patient was able to regain his strength and optimism even after being hospitalized for five months.

Geetha Bai was a healthy person, who didn’t have diabetes or any other diseases.

Geetha Bai contracted corona after returning from a village fair.

She was initially treated at home, but by the time she was admitted to hospital, she had severe breathing problems.
