Dharwad 18 August : A complaint has been filed against the college’s principal, president and an instructor of an private school for sexually exploiting female students in Dharwad city of Karnataka police announced on Thursday. The case has been filed pursuant to the requirements of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The police have detained the principal and lecturer and launched a search for the college president who has fled.
According to police reports, the suspects sexually abused two female students over several months of time, by making various offers.
The victims were taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
The incident came to light after girls filed an police complaint against the accused.
They claimed that they were sexually assaulted by the suspects under the pretext of transporting them to places like temples, hospitals.
An investigation by the police revealed that the suspect sexually assaulted more than 10 female students of the college.
The accused was sexually exploiting two girls who made the complaint over the past four years.
The police investigation has revealed that the suspects visited the victims in their accommodation rooms, and stayed there until midnight.
The Dharwad Upanagar police are investigating the investigation.
