K’taka: Passengers coming from Maha, Kerala will undergo the Covid test

Bengaluru, Nov 27, : Officials in Karnataka made Covid testing compulsory for all passengers coming from Kerala and Maharashtra.This was done as a precautionary measure.
A government official stated that awareness and vaccination are necessary in light of Omicron variant fears, as well as Covid outbreaks at medical colleges in Dharwad (Mysuru) and Bengaluru.

Gaurav Gupta, Commissioner of BBMP, has given instructions to the officials in this regard on Saturday.

He has given instructions for the establishment of special teams at major bus stops, railway stations and terminals to inspect passengers and conduct Covid testing.

He addressed a virtual meeting and stated that he had spoken to the Bengaluru Urban Commissioner about conducting tests in the outskirts of the city.

He said that officials should take precautions to contain this new variant.

Since a week, 160 Covid cases have been reported in Bengaluru.

The city had 224 cases Friday, and there are more cases in the Anekal region.He said that officers would need to be vigilant.

To ensure that there is no cluster of Covid cases, precautionary measures must be taken.

Gupta stated that there are currently 63 containment areas in the city.They need to be managed properly.

He said that the officials will need to answer the call to send samples to be sequenced to discover a new variant.
