Bengaluru : , Nov 18, 2018 – In an effort to encourage female entrepreneurs, the Karnataka government has set up special industrial parks in Mysuru and Harohalli.This was announced by Murugesh Nironi, Large and Medium Industries Minister.
Inaugurating a Women Entrepreneurs’ Event titled “Together We Grow” organised by UBUNTU Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs Associations, the minister inaugurated International Women Entrepreneurship Day in a private Hotel here.

UBUNTU stands for the Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs Associations.

A single platform connects over 30 female entrepreneurs and 1500 members.

Nirani explained the government’s various initiatives and encouraged budding female entrepreneurs to take advantage of them.”Karnataka was the first Indian state to establish exclusive industrial parks for women in Mysuru and Kalaburagi, Harohalli, Dharwad and Kalaburagi.This initiative will serve its purpose if female entrepreneurs use it.Nirani suggested that women should work together with government to drive industrial growth through entrepreneurship and provide jobs.

The minister praised the accomplishments of women in all sectors and encouraged women entrepreneurs to start businesses.

In this highly competitive world, women are excelling in all fields.Women who are entrepreneurs will be more empowered and can provide employment for others.”Successful women entrepreneurs such as Sudha Narayana Murthy from Infosys and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw at Biocon are role models, and should be a source for inspiration for budding female entrepreneurs,” Nirani said.

Minister Nirani stated that government has encouraged women entrepreneurs through various programs to unleash their potential to create unlimited profits and jobs.

Nirani said that the ‘Udyami Udyoga Needu, Udyami Aagu’ program in Bengaluru had been a huge success, and will continue to be run in other areas in the near future.

He praised UBUNTU’s support and guidance of women entrepreneurs, and promised that he would extend the government’s assistance and support to their endeavors.

We are proud to say that India today has between 13.5 and 15.7 million woman-owned businesses, which is 20% of all Indian enterprises.Nirani stated that it is possible to accelerate the quality and quantity of entrepreneurship toward such benchmarks, and this goal is achievable.

Minister Nirani explained the regulations to help women and promised that incentives would be given for entrepreneurs who come from lower socioeconomic groups.Nirani explained that the amendment to the Factories Act 1948 permits women to work the night shift from 7 p.m.until 6 a.m.Under the new industrial policy, additional incentives were proposed for special-category entrepreneurs like SC/ ST women.
