Bengaluru September 1, : Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has on Thursday officially launched the effort to collect holy water and mud that will use in the Kempegowda Theme Park which will be constructed in Bangalore International Airport (BIAL).The event was held on BIA premises also happened with the ceremony of laying the foundation of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Theme Park which is planned to be developed.
Bommai addressed the gathering.Bommai said that the state government would take measures to put the Kempegowda statue on the grounds of Vidhansoudha and also said that a statue of Nadaprabhu will be erected at Lalbagh as well.
The government is planning to spend 84 crores to construct the Kempegowda statue and to create A theme Park in BIA.
The statue is referred to as the “Statue of Prosperity’ in order to represent Kempegowda’s dream of development the Chief Minister said.
This campaign will be inclusive of all sections of society and is a significant step towards constructing ‘Nava Karnataka”, he said, adding that this demonstrates the dedication of the government to inclusive development.
Karnataka Minister C.N.Ashwath Narayan, vice-president of Kempegowda Heritage Places Development Authority said: “Today, the city of Bengaluru has achieved international recognition due to the visionary spirit that Kempegowda was able to achieve.”
The campaign will run for 45 days prior the dedication of the statue.
In the course of the campaign sacred water and mud will be taken from the villages in all 31 districts, particularly from ponds, lakes, and rivers.
The government is scheduled to unveil the statue on the 1st of November.However the date will be determined according to the timetable of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Narayan said.
For the duration of the campaign, a vehicle equipped with an LED screen will be traveling in every district of the state.The screen will broadcast the messages of great personalities , and an documentary about Kempegowda will be shown, he said.
The theme park located at BIA covering 23 acres is being constructed in two phases.The initial phase is expected to be finished in 9 months.
To fund this, a total of 20 crore was approved Ashwath Narayan said.
He stated that Kempegowda Study Centre will be set up in Bangalore University at a cost of 50 crore rupees.
The theme park that will be built in two phases with an expense of 30 million rupees will be developed into an international tourist destination, Narayan said.
In the initial phase the park will be built over the size of 3.35 acres, at the cost of around 20 crore.The second phase the remaining 10 crore will be utilized, he said.
Theme Park will consist of an amphitheatre and pathway subway, A.V.exhibition system, 3D projection, fountain, flower garden, VIP lounge, restrooms, kiosks, modern tiles, pavilions, concrete walls etc.
