G Kishan Reddy visited rain-affected areas in Secunderabad.
Represented by the Union government, the Inter-Ministerial Central team has reached Hyderabad on Thursday to assess the damage caused due to floods.
Also, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy has visited rain-affected areas in Secunderabad and promised to help the residents with relief measures.
On the first day of a two-day visit, the Central team visited Falaknuma RoB, Al-Jubail Colony, Ghazi Millat Colony, Kandikal Gate main road, Hafeez Baba Nagar and other flood-affected areas in Hyderabad.
The team has written down the estimation of damage to properties, household furniture and vehicles, apart from roads and drains.Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has followed the team and explained the extent of damage to them.
He reportedly asked them to convey his message to the Central government to extend all help and release necessary funds to take up the relief work immediately.
On the other side, G Kishan Reddy said the state government should take preventive steps to stop the encroachments of rivers, lakes and ponds in Hyderabad.
He advised the state government to conduct a meeting with all political parties and experts to take a tough decision against such invasions.
