Keshav Maharaj and Ayabonga Khaka are awarded top honors in the 2021-22 CSA Awards

Johannesburg 15 August : Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj and pacer Ayabonga Khaka were named as the Cricketer of the Year for Women and Men.of the Year in the 2021-22 Cricket South Africa Awards ceremony which was held virtually on the evening of Sunday.Maharaj as well as Ayabonga were also chosen by their fellow players to win the Women’s and Men’s Players”Player of the Year’ and ‘Player of the Year’ awards, respectively.
In the awards for men The pacer, Kagiso Rabada was named Test Player of the Year.

All-rounder Aiden Markram was named the T20 International Player of the Year, while top order batter Janneman Malan was deemed the One-Day International Player of the Year.

Left-arm pace and all-rounder Marco Jansen was named the International Newcomer of the Year, while an explosive left-handed batter David Miller clinched the SA Fans’ Player of the Award of the Year.

For the best delivery of the South Africa home season, selected by the South African fans off spinner Simon Harmer took the award for his removal of Najmul Hossain Shanto in the first Test match against Bangladesh in Durban.

In the women’s category, Lizelle Lee, who quit international cricket earlier in the year, was awarded the T20 International Player of the Year award while batter Laura Wolvaardt took home the One-Day International Player of the Year award.

Left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba was honoured with the Makhaya Ntini Power of Cricket Award, which recognizes the determination, passion, and the immense satisfaction of those who have used their talents to transform their lives.

On the domestic side, Sisanda Magala won the Division 1 One-Day Cup Player of the Season, Domestic Players’ Player of the Season as well as the SACA Most Valuable Player Award.

Tazmin Brits was awarded the CSA Women’s Provincial Player of the Year Award, while Dewald Brevis won the CSA U19 Player of the Year.
