Kochi 22 Nov : .A group of divers jumped in the backwaters near Kochi Monday afternoon to recover a hard drive of an incident at a hotel DJ Party.
Two former beauty pageant winners fled the hotel, and were soon killed in a car accident. Divers are being attached to the Fire and Rescue Unit, state government.
Those who have been to the backwaters know that it will be futile as the hard drive has not been thrown in the water for more than 2 weeks.
This incident happened in the early hours of November 1, and without sustained media coverage it might have been a serious car accident.
The scene is what the police are trying to uncover if anything was wrong in this case.
The state government under pressure has appointed a new team.
Kerala police also challenged the grant of bail to staff members and owners of the hotel, where the DJ party took place prior to the crash.
Things began to change when Roy J.Vayalatin (the hotel’s owner) and five members of his staff were taken into custody on Wednesday night.They were released after being granted bail the next night.
Even though Vayalatin staff had told the police the hard drive was being thrown in the backwaters, this happened.
A miffed police officer in the remand reported expressed doubts that drugs were involved in the incident.
It also suggested that blackmailing was an issue to investigate.
Vayalatin was taken into custody after telling police that the CCTV disk that contained visuals from the party had been deleted.
Anjana Shajan (24 years old) and Ancy Kabeer (25) died in the accident.Ashiq succumbed to injuries just a few days later.Abdul Rahman was the sole witness.
Rahman is currently out of the hospital, but police arrested him on charges of involuntary murder.
Although the team did recover the CCTV footage from the hotel on a hard drive, they were unable to see any images of the party.This raises suspicions about foul play.
The police discovered that the incident occurred during the party after several days of investigation.The youngsters left the hotel before things got ugly.
Sources claim Rahman drove under the influence alcohol.
After hitting a 2-wheeler on the way back, it lost control of its car and became a turtle.
