Thiruvananthapuram : , Wednesday, November 24, 2009: In what is seen to be a largesse by the Kerala government, Pinarayi Vijayan cabinet decided on Wednesday to provide a one-time aid of Rs 3,000 to 1,594,481 fishermen families in the state. K.N., State Finance Minister Balagopal informed media later that the one-time assistance was announced due to the piquant state in which the fisher folk are living due to inclement weather and also Covid.
Balagopal stated that Rs 47.84 crore would be taken from Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, and distributed to fisher people.
