Thiruvananthapuram 9 August : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has turned down The Leader of the Opposition in Kerala Assembly V.D.Satheesan’s request to have a special sitting of the assembly in order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the country’s Independence.
Satheesan on the 5th of August was adamant about a midnight session on the 14th of August or a day prior to the date however Vijayan is believed to have told him that the state follows the practice of different cabinet ministers taking the salute in the district headquarters of the state.
This means that all of them won’t be able to go to the midnight session in a group.
As Vijayan’s response doesn’t mention a date that is suitable the opposition led by Congress is in the process of discussing the next course of actions based on his response.
