Kate Winslet had a special night at the BAFTA TV Awards as she won the Best Actress award for her role in the TV series called I Am Ruth.
This was a significant achievement for Winslet, who has previously won three BAFTA Film Awards but had never won in the TV category before.
It was even more special because her daughter, Mia Threapleton, also starred in the series alongside her.

During her acceptance speech, Winslet passionately called for those in power to make harmful content a criminal offense.She expressed her concern for the mental health of children and urged young people to seek help without feeling ashamed.
Winslet also expressed her appreciation for her daughter Mia Threapleton and wished she could share the award with her.She acknowledged the challenging emotional journey they both went through while working on the show.
Furthermore, Winslet recognized the creator of I Am Ruth, Dominic Savage, for providing a platform to tell women’s stories.She emphasized the importance of small British TV dramas being meaningful and impactful.
