Now, in the 21st century, a new battle has begun against the brutal rule of the government. The Congress would require the to have the support of citizens to protect democracy,” he said after welcoming the people to Independence Day.

Without making any mention of it directly, Nath attacked the BJP by comparing the saffron-party controlled government with the East India Company. He said that the BJP of concealing its true face with the mask of democracy and taking away the authority of people as the East India Company had done many years ago.

“Some forces that are hiding behind the facade of democracy are deceiving the nation. They are making grand promises similar to what the East India Company used to do during the British period. They’re pushing citizens of this country to slavery. The land of farmers is being taken away and freedom of expression is completely ruined,” the Congress leader stated.

Furthermore, he criticised the economic policies of the BJP headed Centre as well as the state-run government. The veteran leader claimed that the nation is battling the weight of “huge debt that currently exceeds 128 crore.

Similar to that, Madhya Pradesh has over three lakh crore in debt”.

“The slavery started with the debt, and it is growing each day.It isn’t the right way to make the nation and its people self-sufficient.instead, they are pushing people to slavery to fulfill their own agendas.” Nath added.
