Legendary film maker, artist Late Bapu (Sattiraju Lakshminarayana) will be nominated for prestigious Padma Vibhushan Award 2014 by Andhra Pradesh government.This is in recognition of his services to the Telugu Cinema, in particular, and Indian Cinema in general.
Among other names recommended to the Centre for Padma Vibhushan are Nori Dattatreyudu, noted oncologist and D Nageswar Reddy, noted gastroenterologist.For Padma Bhushan, the State government nominated Carnatic vocalist Nedunuri Krishna Murthy, Sanskrit scholar Chaganti Koteswara Rao and Lok Sabha member and veteran film actor Maganti Murali Mohan.
The names will be finalised at the Cabinet meeting on Monday.According to sources, the Cabinet is likely to recommend the name of N.T.Rama Rao for the Bharat Ratna
Meanwhile, the likes of Kota Sreenivasa Rao, cartoonist Sridhar, social activist Satyavani and journalist I.Venkata Rao (Mahaa TV) are considered for Padma Shri.The clear picture on the final list of names will be emerged soon after Cabinet concludes its meeting.
