The Spanish summer of 2022 was the hottest month to date

Madrid 9 August : July of this year was the hottest in Spain ever recorded with the average temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius Aemet, the meteorological service of the country Aemet stated.
The monthly average beats the previous record set in July 2015 by 0.2 degrees Celsius and is 2.7 degrees more than the average of July, says the news agency dpa.

“We were blessed with an extremely warm air mass across our country for almost the entire month of July,” Aemet spokesman Ruben del Campo told reporters on Monday.

The heat wave that lasted from July 9 to 26 was “additionally caused by a much warmer air mass that came from North Africa”, he said.

The heatwave, which impacted the mainland and the Balearic Islands, was the second longest in record time since records started at 18 days ago, he said.

When combined with the prolonged drought and strong winds and strong winds, the heat created favorable conditions for a variety of fires to grow in July.
