On March 9, the second annual South Asian Excellence at the Oscars event was held at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, where celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Mindy Kaling, Nick Jonas, Preity Zinta, Jacqueline Fernandez and others honoured nominees from Indian movies RRR, All That Breathes and The Elephant Whisperers.The event was hosted by Priyanka Chopra and Anjula Acharia, with co-chairs including Malala Yousafzai, Mindy Kaling, Kumail Nanjiani, Kal Penn, Aziz Ansari, Bela Bajaria, Radhika Jones, Joseph Patel, Shruti Ganguly, and Anita Chatterjee.

Celebrities walked the red carpet for the pre-Oscars bash, with many of them dressed by designers Falguni and Shane Peacock.Mindy Kaling posted photos on Instagram of herself with other celebrities like Telugu actor Jr NTR and Preity Zinta who photobombed their picture.

Preity also shared photos on Instagram of herself posing with the guests, including Jr NTR and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Mindy Kaling thanked Priyanka and Anjula for organizing such a special event and for the spectacular saree designed by Falguni and Shane Peacock.

The 95th Academy Awards will take place on March 12 (March 13 in India), with three Indian films competing for the coveted awards.The song “Naatu Naatu” by RRR has been nominated for the Best Original Song category, while Shaunak Sen’s “All That Breathes” has been recognized for Best Documentary Feature Film, and Guneet Monga’s “The Elephant Whisperers” is a contender for Best Documentary Short.
