Officials confirmed that the Covid-19 situation has been made it bio-secure for team officials and players.

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Police Commissionerate have made extensive security arrangements in preparation for this mega-sporting event, while Bhubaneswar Municipal Corp (BMC), and Bhubaneswar Development Authority [BDA] decorated the city.

Soumendra Priyadarshi, police commissioner, stated that there were five ASPs and eight DSPs present at the event, as well as 26 inspectors, 42 officers, 30 Havildars, 22 Inspectors, and about 20 platoons.

He said that the cops would be present at both the gate and the inner periphery, and had been briefed on players’ security.

Priyadarshi stated that there will not be any spectators allowed in the stadium for the match. This means traffic arrangements are free from pressure.

The police commissioner spoke out about the arrangements for teams staying at their respective places. He stated that “the security of foreign teams, especially Pakistan, is our highest priority.” The police escort will be provided for the players from the time they arrive at the airport until their hotel or stadium.

He also stated that adequate police officers are present at hotels where players stay.

The commissioner stated that he believes the event would be a huge success because the Bhubaneswar Police have the experience of providing security arrangements for the World Cup, Champions Trophy and FIH hockey Pro League.

Sanjay Singh, BMC Commissioner, said that the corporation was responsible for sanitizing the stadium as well as other locations.

You can see the city’s walls decorated with artworks and major roads lit up by bright lights.

Every 72 hours, all participants and team members are subject to Covid-19 testing.

The Covid-19 pandemic means that there will be no spectators at the event, which is a disappointment for hockey fans.
