In an open letter he explained the reasons he will not be promoting his film, as reported by aceshowbiz.com.

“Through this process of self-discovery in the film, I’ve discovered that I’ve spent close to 20 years suffering from anxiety attacks that are further exacerbated due to media exposures and public occasions,” he shared.

“You will not see me out in public promoting this film or any of my films in the pipeline, as I take this crucial step to ensure my safety.”

“Stutz,” named following Hill’s personal therapist, Dr.Phil Stutz, will include Hill and his therapist discussing his mental health issues.

“The main reason of the film is to provide therapy and the techniques I’ve learned in therapy to a wider audience for personal use through an entertaining film” Hill added.

“If I did something to make myself sicker by promoting the film and promoting the film I wouldn’t be being true to myself or the movie.”

“I typically shudder at such letters or statements but I realize that I’m of the few fortunate people who are able to afford breaks,” he said, before announcing that he’s taking a break from Hollywood, “I won’t lose my job while tackling my anxiety.”

Hill continued to emphasize his goals with the film, “With this letter and with “Stutz,” I’m trying to make it common that people talk about about and do this kind of thing.”

“So they can make the necessary changes to feel better and also so that individuals in their lives can recognize their problems more easily.I believe that my writing will speak for itself.I am grateful to my colleagues and business partners as well as to everyone reading this for your patience and understanding.”

Although he did not mention the issue in the letter, Hill has apparently also been away from social media, as his Instagram account has been removed.

Alongside ‘Stutz’ the 38-year-old actor also stars in the Netflix film ‘You People which is scheduled to release later this year based on an original script he co-wrote with Kenya Barris.

He has been on the public relations and promotional rounds last year for Netflix’s scifi film ‘Don’t Look Up’.
