The perpetrators’ group has asked Bitcoin donations towards the PM relief fund for Covid-19.
On Thursday reports spread like wildfire that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s website twitter account has hacked.
Twitter has confirmed the news and said it is taking necessary steps to secure the account sternly so that this type of situation does not happen in future.
An unethical fellow group named John Wick, which goes after the Keanu Reeves movie name has hacked the account with an intension to get Bitcoin donations from Indians.
Reportedly, the group has asked for donations to a Bitcoin account in the name of ‘PM relief Fund for Covid-19’ or PM-CARES.
The officials from Twitter have rectified the issue and restored the account.
They said the investigation is going on whether the other accounts in the administration are safe or being hacked.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined on Twitter in May 2011.Since then, 2.5 million people have been following his account, and 37,000 tweets have come from Narendra Modi.
