New Delhi, Dec 7 : A protest march was carried out by the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) inside the campus demanding reconstruction of the demolished Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
The protest march was staged on Monday night to mark the demolition anniversary.
Students gathered at the site with placards and shouted slogans.Later, they marched inside the campus.
Students leaders also demanded reconstruction of the mosque.
Although the JNU administration had warned against the protest, the student union held the demonstration.
The student wing organized a show on Sunday at the campus, in which a movie about the demolition of Babri Masjid was shown.The administration had asked students not to broadcast any such film as it would result in strict action.
The protest march ended at Chandrabhaga Hostel, where student leaders gave speeches.
Saket moon, vice president of JNUSU, stated that justice will be done if the Babri Masjid is rebuilt.
Aishe Gosh, president of the JNUSU, stated that Kashi is the next target for the BJP after Babri Masjid.They (BJP) have already begun working on it.
” We are remembering Baba Saheb today.We also condemn the killing of civilians at Nagaland.BJP and RSS are not doing anything in the name development, but they are dividing people in the name religion, law, and order is crippling.” she stated.
