Israeli archaeologists have unearthed a 2,700-year-old toilet in Jerusalem.Berusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world.
The release of these photos by the Israeli Antiquities Authority revealed that the holy city of Jerusalem had private bathrooms as far back as 2,700 years ago.Authorities also found a deep septic tank under the toilet.
An official of the Israel Antiquities Authority said it was very rare to build a toilet cubicle in ancient times.He said only the rich at the time would buy such toilets.
Attempts are being made to find out the lifestyle of the people living at that time as well as the details of the diseases based on various items found in the septic tank under the toilet.The toilet was discovered on the site of a large estate at the Armon Hanatzeev resort in Jerusalem.
