Jemimah Rodrigues nominated to ICC Women’s Player of the Month along with Tahlia McGrath and Beth Mooney.

Dubai 5th of September : India batter Jemimah Rodrigues, who was 22 on Monday, was shortlisted for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for August 2022 due to her notable contribution in the middle in her team’s rout to win the silver medal in the women’s T20 event of 2022 Commonwealth Games at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
In addition to Jemimah, Australians, all-rounder Tahlia McGrath , and batter Beth Mooney have also been nominated for the award for their outstanding contributions with bat and ball for the Meg Lanning-led team to take home the gold medal in women’s T20 cricket’s first appearance in the multi-nation tournament.

August was a very busy month for Jemimah and, despite falling in a painfully narrow gap at the last barrier, she played a crucial role in helping her team celebrate the silver medal at Birmingham 22.She scored a scoring of 33 in the final brought her team within a few inches of the ultimate prize.

It was Jemimah’s crucial performance of 44 not-out against England in the semi-final that was the most significant part of the tournament, as it ensured India played in the first performance of women’s T20 cricket at the Commonwealth Games.In all, Jemimah scored 146 runs in the multi-nation contest.

Tahlia was a crucial member of the gold medal-winning team of Australia with five wickets, with an average of 13.40 and scoring 114 runs during August.Despite a lackluster performance in the final itself , despite being positive for testing Covid-19 her best performance was in the win over Pakistan.

In that game, she scored 78 not out she took three wickets and also registered one run out.This streak of results also allowed her to to reach her career-high rank of 12th overall among all-rounders in the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings.

Beth’s nomination comes after an impressive set of performances that earned her an Olympic gold medal for Australia.She scored a staggering 167 runs in the three T20Is she played in August.She then followed her half-century in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Final victory earlier in April with an unbeaten score of 62 against India in the gold medal match of the Commonwealth Games.

Jemimah The player, whose time at The Hundred with Northern Superchargers was cut short due to a hand injury, will be in action during the time India take on England in the opening of three T20Is in Durham on the weekend.Following three T20Is, three ODIs are scheduled to be played until September 24.
