The petition filed against the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant was heard in the AP High Court on Thursday.The court adjourned the hearing to February 2.The final hearing will be held on the same day.Retired IPS officer Lakshminarayana (cbi jd lakshmi narayana) has filed a petition against the Centre’s decision on the steel plant.Lakshminarayana said the court had asked the Center to bring to its notice any decisions taken by February 2.He said no affidavit was filed from the steel plant.Lakshminarayana said the steel plant management had asked the Center to take the affidavit as their affidavit.Today, justice has not been done to the 8,000 farmers who were given land.
However, the central government is privatizing many public sector companies, citing rising debt and falling into debt.Among them is the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
However, workers and state citizens are fighting for the Vizag steel plant, protesting against the government’s decision and claiming that Visakhapatnam steel is the right of Andhras.As of last Wednesday, the steel plant labor strike had reached 300 days.
