Jadeja, who is often India’s first-choice spinner, was ruled out in the second Test of the New Zealand series at Mumbai.

The BCCI stated that Jadeja was unable to play because of swelling in his forearm.

“All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja sustained a right forearm injury in the 1st Test match at Kanpur.

After undergoing scans, he was found to have a swelling in his forearm. The statement stated that he was advised to rest and is therefore out of the 2nd Test at Mumbai.

According to Espncricinfo reports, the all-rounder could be off for a while. He could be out of action for a long time if he is injured and misses the South Africa tour.

He had previously broken his left thumb in the Test series in Australia in January. He was forced to miss the final Test in Brisbane and the entire home series against England.

While the exact nature of Axar’s problem cannot be determined, it is known that it is a stress-related injury.

Ravichandran Ashwin will be the lead spinner in the absence of Jadeja or Patel, and there is rarely a need for more than one specialist tweaker to play in South Africa.

Selectors have other options, including Jayant Yadav and Shahbaz Nadeem, as well as Saurabh Kumar.

It has been revealed that Gill’s shin injury is back and the selectors are unsure if he will be included in the squad for the next tour.

Gill had also missed the Test series against England because of the same problem, and he suffered again during the Mumbai Test.

After being hit in the arm and finger, the youngster who played in the Tests against New Zealand at their home recently, he sat out the second Test.

He was taken to the hospital for a precautionary scan, but he didn’t take to the field.

India has plenty of options at the top with Rohit Sharma and KL Rohul as openers, and Mayank Agarwal scoring a century against New Zealand.

The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee was also forced to delay the naming of the South African tour squad due to injuries to key players.
