Israel and UAE hold talks to reach a free-trade agreement

Jerusalem, November 17, 2017 : .Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), began talks Tuesday to achieve a free trade deal, according to a statement by the Israeli Ministry of Economy.
The agreement is expected to include issues relating to trade in goods and services, regulation, customs, government procurement, e-commerce and the protection of intellectual property rights, Xinhua news agency reported.According to Xinhua, the agreement will cover issues relating trade in goods, services, regulation, customs and government procurement.

The discussions were launched in a video meeting between the two countries’ economy ministers, Israel’s Orna Barbivai and Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri of the UAE.These discussions took place in a live video conference between Orna Barbivai, Israel, and Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri from the UAE.

Al Marri said that the future agreement would significantly strengthen trade between the two countries, remove barriers and expand economic cooperation.Al Marri stated that future agreements would strengthen bilateral trade, eliminate barriers, and increase economic cooperation.

Barbivai said the agreement would help industry and businesspersons from both countries and create opportunities for a wide range of business collaborations.Barbivai stated that the agreement will benefit industry from both countries as well as businesspeople and open up opportunities for business partnerships.

Trade of goods between the two countries, who signed a normalization agreement in September 2020, totaled nearly $500 million in January-July 2021.The trade of goods between these two countries was nearly $500m in January-2021, after they signed an agreement for normalization in September 2020.
