Iraq: US has not extended the deadline for US military withdrawal

Baghdad : , Nov 21, 2001 – Iraq denies reports that the US has extended its presence in Iraq past December 31.
Tahseen Al-Khafaji spoke for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command and stated that reports regarding a delay in the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq were “inaccurate” and inaccurate.

The scheduled departure of combat troops by the United States on December 31 has not been changed according to Xinhua news agency.

Al-Khafaji stated that cooperation between the US and Iraq after combat troops’ departure would focus on training, armour, and intelligence against Islamic State terrorist group.

After media reports that the US military forces would not be leaving Syria and Iraq, the spokesman said so.This comment was made after Washington’s quick withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The US and Iraq had a strategic dialogue in July.During this session, both countries reached an agreement to pull all combat troops out of Iraq by December 31, 2011.
