Tehran 13 Aug : The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has declared that the US “fabrication of stories” about the existence of a “politically bankrupted element as well as a terrorist known to the public and a plotter of a coup” against states that are independent is an “deceptive attempt to escape international obligations”. Nasser Kanaani tweeted the comment on Twitter on Friday, in reaction to the US Justice Department’s decision to indict one of the members of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps with “plotting to assassinate” John Bolton, former US National Security Adviser Xinhua news agency claimed.
He has slammed Washington for reiterating the “baseless” charges against Tehran in a statement that “such fanfares will not whitewash US images of the regime, but will only make Iranians and the world discontent of the US regime”.
In a separate statement posted on the Ministry’s website Thursday, Kanaani added that such actions are an extension of Washington’s unsuccessful policy of propagating Iranophobia, and adding that Iran strongly cautions against any actions against its citizens based on these “ridiculous” allegations.
