Tehran 26 December : .Iran announced that it will close all its borders for 15 days with neighboring countries to stop the spread of Omicron’s Covid-19 variant. Ruhollah Latti, a spokesperson for Iran’s Customs said Saturday that Iran’s borders will be closed with Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan for half a year, according to Xinhua news agency.
Iran’s Health Ministry reported Saturday 1,121 Covid-19 new cases.This brings the total number of infections in Iran to 6,182,905.
According to ministry, 42 people died in pandemics within the last 24 hours.
This brings the total death toll up to 131 348.
It said that 6,024,211 patients have been released from hospital and 2,781 are still in ICUs.
Friday was Saturday and 59,464,524 Iranians had received their first vaccination doses.51,096,388 jabs were given, followed by 5478,443 booster shots.
There have been 41,388,312 test across the nation.
Iran discovered the first Omicron case on December 19 in a returnee from the UAE.
