In a historic judgment a court in New Delhi has acquitted cricketer Sreeshanth and two other accused cricketers in IPL spot fixing scandal.Apart from Sreesanth all the 36 accused persons were discharged in the IPL-6 spot fixing case.
The scandal was broke out during IPL 6 season and BCCI had slapped life ban on Sreesanth, Chandila and Chavan.The Court verdict however absolves them of all charges.
“All are discharged (from the case),” Additional Sessions Judge Neena Bansal Krishna said while pronouncing the order.Sreesanth, 32, broke down on hearing the order while the other accused including the players present in the courtroom started hugging each other.
There were total of 42 accused named in the chargesheet.Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his aide Chhota Shakeel are also accused in this case.
