KL Rahul and Rashid Khan, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Dhawan, ShreyasIyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Iyer, Shikhar Dawan, Kagiso Rabada are just a few of the big names that have been dropped by their franchises.These players will now be in pool from which Ahmedabad and Lucknow will have up to 3 picks each (2 Indians, 1 Foreign).
Glenn Maxwell and Jos Buttler were retained, as was Sunil Narine, Anrich Nortje, Jos Russell, Sunil Naine, and Andre Russell.Allrounder Kieron Pollard was selected for Mumbai Indians, while Moeen Ali was selected over Faf du Plessis and Sam Curran at Chennai Super Kings.
CSK retained their captain Dhoni as second retention, behind Ravindra Jadeja, while Moeen Ali (third retention) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (fourth retention).
