Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan drive SRH to record a superb win against KXIP.
England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow 97 (55) and leg-spinner Rashid Khan 3 for 12 in 4 overs guided Sunrisers Hyderabad to a comfortable 69-run win against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020 on Thursday.
Bairstow and David Warner (52) have put up a 160-run opening partnership as SRH ended at 201 for six after 20 overs. Punjab bowlers have come back well in the slog overs otherwise the score could have gone way higher.
However, that could not change their defeat as KXIP were all out for 132 in 16.5 overs.The Punjab Kings have lost their key batsmen KL Rahul (11) and Mayank Agarwal (9) inside five overs.Except for Nicholas Pooran (77 off 37 balls; 5 fours and 7 sixes) fight, nothing worked for Punjab and suffered a 69-run lose in the end.It is SRH’s third win from six matches.Jonny Bairstow got the Man of the Match award.
In their next encounters, Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals on Sunday at 3:30 pm IST, while Kings XI Punjab will cross its swords with Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday at 3:30 pm.
