Bengaluru 27 August : A request to the state Congress members, including the leader of opposition Siddaramaiah from the Karnataka chapter of India-China Friendship Association to attend the seminar on “US intervention in China which has caused new tensions in the state’s southern region.In a dig at the Congress, BJP national general secretary and MLA C.T.Ravi stated: “If anyone had doubts that Congress is working for China it will dispel the air.Why should Congress be on the side with China when America interferes in China’s internal affairs?
“Is the MoU signed by Rahul Gandhi with the Chinese Communist Party the reason for this support for China?”
Ravi also tweeted the invite of the event and claimed that a controversial image of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi was seen with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In the meantime the the veteran Congress leader Siddaramaiah stated that he has declined the invitation from the India-China friendship association (ICFA) to take part in the ceremony scheduled to be held on Sunday.
“It is quite a shock that my name is appear on the invitation even though I’ve declined the invitation,” he said.
Siddaramaiah said he turned down the invitation to take part in the event because his party’s and his personal position is not in line with the goals of the event.
The invitation to the seminar “Interference of US imperialism in the internal affairs of People’s Republic of China The invitation states that Siddaramaiah will be one of the principal guests together with Chinese Ambassador to India, Sun Weidong, and Consul General of China in Mumbai, Kong Xianhua.
According to the invitation the invitation states that the senior Congress head H.C.Mahadevappa will be the guest of honor and other leaders such as L.Hanumanthaiah, P.G.R.Sindhia as well as JD-S rebel K.Srinivas Gowda, will be speaking during the ceremony, along with other leaders.
