Interfaith meeting to combat communal hate and speech

Aligarh/New Delhi 28 Dec : .In light of the recent hate speech incidents, Islamic Information Centre has organized interfaith conferences in order to promote peace and harmony.
The Islamic Information Centre in Aligarh organized a conference on Sunday, where representatives from different faiths and leaders attended.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Vice President Salim Engineering and other leaders from interfaith came together to protest the increasing hatred and hostility among the nation at large.

To reduce mistrust in the society, there will be more meetings.

The JIH Vice President stated that anyone who acts in violence for the sake of religion is an enemy to his own faith.

The JIH Vice President pointed out that violence and hatred are not caused by religion, as every faith teaches against oppression, hatred, and violence.Salim referred to the supremacist mentality, and the misuse of religion for political gain as the main reasons.

According to him, some people or groups consider themselves superior while others see them as less than they are.Islam, however, considers every human being to be a member of the family God.Prophets and messengers from God sent messages to the earth with the message of peace and justice.

He stressed the importance of sharing our joys and sadnesses together and urged us to form one-to-one relationships over social media.

Salim stressed that no one should be forced to find truth and that religions should not be used for violence or atrocity.Salim reminded them that justice is the only way to peace in any society.

Giani Rabhajot Sing of Gurdwara Masoodabad called for justice and social equality.Jai Singh Suman, a Buddhist Society of India representative said Gautam Buddha spoke of equality and love.Buddhism aimed to eliminate untouchability.Deepak Sharma, Hare Krishna Bhakti Kendra has declared that all humans are children of one God according to Sanatan Dharma.Reverend Lawrence Das of the Church of the Ascension Aligarh stated that “if there is love, peace, and humility in our hearts, hatred and enmity cannot exist among us.”

Organisers claim that Interfaith meets is an attempt to counter communal hatred in Haridwar or Raipur, where speakers spew venom at a specific community.Also, there have been Christmas vandalisations of churches in different parts of the country.
