Indigenous vaccine is launched to safeguard animals from Lumpy Skin disease

New Delhi, Aug 10 : Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, on Wednesday, launched the Lumpi-ProVacInd, a native vaccine that will safeguard livestock from Lumpy Skin disease.
The vaccine was designed by the National Equine Research Centre, Hisar (Haryana) in collaboration with the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izzatnagar (Bareilly).

In describing this vaccine as a landmark in the fight against the illness, Tomar stated that the livestock together with human resources is the most valuable resource of the country, and we are entrusted with the an obligation to protect it and ensure its prosperity.

Noting that a brand new level has been created by the development of this vaccine under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), he congratulated the scientists of both institutes.

Since the disease was brought to India in the year 2019 research institutes have been involved in creating the vaccine.

Tomar expressed joy that scientists have accepted this as a challenge , and conducting a few trials in the short time frame they have created an effective vaccine that is 100% efficient, and in compliance with all standards.

It is efficient in the elimination of this disease.
