India’s October YoY retail sales fell due to supply shortage and cost pressures. FADA

New Delhi, November 18th : .In October 2021, India saw a decrease in vehicle sales due to a combination of inflationary pressures and supply problems.
Accordingly to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations’ (FADA), there was a 5.33 percent decrease in October 2020, according to the FADA data.

Last month’s vehicle retail sales were 13,64,526, compared to the 14,41 299 units that were sold in 2020.

On a more sequential basis however, total vehicle retail sales in September 2021 were higher than 12,962,257 units.

Similar to last month, the overall retail sales figures for October 2019, which was pre-pandemic, saw a decrease of 26.64 percent.

The total vehicle retail sales in October 2019 stood at 18,6098 units.

Retail sales fell 18.21 percent to 20,90,893 during the 42-day festive period in 2021, compared with the same period last year.
