This is because the chip shortage continues, according to a Monday report.
According to CMR, a market research company based in Gurugram, India, the tablet market saw a remarkable 116% quarter-on-quarter growth (QoQ), in Q3 2021.

This was mainly due to continued consumer demand during the festive season.

The current supply dynamics (including chip shortage) could pose problems for tablet OEMs.

We believe that tablet brands can navigate these issues and that the overall market for tablets will maintain its growth rate in Q4 2021,” stated Menka Kumari Analyst-Industry Intelligence Group, CMR.

With a 47 percent market share, Lenovo dominated the tablet market in China during the third quarter.

“The quarter saw new market players such as realme enter the tablet industry with the introduction of their tablet offering, realme Pad.Kumari said that this debut is a good sign for the tablet market.

Apple was at the second position with 23 per cent market share and iPad Air 2020 garnered 10 per cent market share.

Samsung was placed third with 19 per cent market share and with its debut in the tablet market, realme secured a 6 per cent market share, said the report.

In terms of chipsets, MediaTek led the tablet market with 38 per cent market share, followed by Qualcomm with 33 per cent and Apple with 23 per cent market share.
