India’s PC market saw 4.5 million units shipped in Q3, HP leads

New Delhi, November 18th : .Despite ongoing supply problems, the Indian traditional PC market, which includes notebooks and desktops, saw 4.5 Million Unit Shipments in Q3 (Q3) of this year, according to a report.
International Data Corporation (IDC) reported that traditional PC shipment saw a 30% year-over (YoY), growth in Q3 2021, July-Sep.

This is the fifth quarter in a row of India’s growth.

Bharath Shenoy Senior Market Analyst for PC Devices at IDC India stated in a statement that “despite the better allocations of a few segments,” the demand-supply gap remains a problem as SMBs and enterprises continue to place large orders.

With more than 100% of the market, notebook PCs still dominate this category.The Notebook category saw a surge in consumer and enterprise demand, reaching over 3,000,000 units.In 3Q21, the Desktop category experienced a 30.5 percent YoY increase.

HP maintained its leadership in overall PC categories with a third quarter of over one million PC shipments.With a share of 28.5 percent in both the PC commercial and consumer categories, HP maintained its lead in this segment.However, it lost its 30% share in commercial segments for the third consecutive quarter.Its share dropped to 25.3 percentage in consumer segments despite consumer shipments increasing by 22.5 percent YoY in 3Q21.

With a share of over 23.8% in overall PC categories, Dell Technologies remained at second place.It had an inflow of supply that was consistent during the quarter, which helped it to register India’s first quarter with more than a million shipped.With a 19.2 percent share in 3Q21, it also beat Lenovo in the consumer category to claim second.

With an 18.6 percent share in the overall market, Lenovo remained at third place for 3Q21.Due to strong performances in both the SMB- and enterprise segments, Lenovo’s commercial segment shipments increased 19% YoY.The quarter saw only a slight 3.4% YoY increase in its consumer segment.
