India Crosses Milestone Of 1 Billion Vaccinations Today

India is extensively vaccinating all the eligible citizens of the country across Covid-19.However, today it has reached a Milestone of administering 100 crore vaccines.

In other words, India has administered one billion vaccine doses through the massive vaccine distribution program.India today crossed the 100 crore Milestone in vaccine distribution.

India is the second country after China to provide 100 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses.

The vaccine distribution program was launched on January 16, 2021, to curb the spread of the corona epidemic in the country.

As part of the first phase of vaccination, all the frontline workers like doctors, health workers and sanitation workers were vaccinated.Then, the Union Govt began vaccinating all citizens over the age of 45 from April 1, and all citizens over the age of 18 from May 1.

Initially, people were scared to get the vaccination as several rumours surfaced on the social media platform.With this, the vaccination drive pace decreased.

However, vaccination has gained momentum since the outbreak of the second wave of coronavirus in March this year.

By the end of June, 40 lakh doses were administered.In honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, 2.5 crore doses were administered in a single day on September 17.As of October 21, it has crossed the 100 crore dose Milestone.
