Kanpur, Nov 26th : .Will Young (46 runs not out of 86 balls) & Tom Latham (23/0 off 72 balls) both survived the second day against India to help New Zealand achieve 72/0 in 26 overs at Tea.

New Zealand trailed India by 273 runs.Young was careful in defence, while Latham was happy to play the defensive game with control.
Both Young and Latham had a steady but nerve-wracking start.They were able to survive the first spells of Umesh Yadav (Ishant Sharma) though there were some close calls.

Latham was able to survive an appeal from Sharma in the third over, but DRS showed an inner edge onto the pads.

Young began to make a move by striking two boundaries against Yadav in just two overs.

He also comfortably swept Ravichandran Ashwin over square leg.Six overs later, he was confident in using his feet to drive down Ashwin’s ground.Young was able to drive a drive mid-off, before finishing the session by grabbing a copybook through covers from Axar Patel.

Ashwin was bowled earlier by Ajaz Ptel, who was beaten by a sharp ball from the outside leg-stump.

Patel took Ishant Sharma’s second wicket by trapping him plumb lbw.

Sharma took the review, but replays showed that the ball hit top of middle and leg stumps.India was left all out at 345 runs in 111.1 overs.New Zealand won the final six wickets for 87 runs.
